Rich, who carries the title of President of Encompass Financial Planning and Director of Financial Planning, got his formal introduction to the financial industry in 1997 when he began working with small business employee benefits. As a result of his passion for the success of the company and the employees he worked with, he began expanding his services over the years to include working with the owners and their staff on their individual financial needs. Attention to detail, good listening skills, and a sincere interest in the success of his clients are just some of the hallmarks of Rich's client interactions. Rich loves looking at the big picture of a client’s personal and professional life as he works with them to meet their life goals. He is effectively supported by a team of administration, group benefits, and investment specialists whose teamwork and professionalism help him to build long-term relationships with his growing client base.

Rich is a proud alumnus of Oregon State University. Rich also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING™ designation, which is the highest designation within the Financial Planning industry.

Rich is an active member of his community. He serves in his community on the local library board as well as sponsoring a road in the town he lives in by keeping the trash picked up 3 – 4 times per year. He is married and is a father to 6 amazing children. Away from work he enjoys attending sporting events, watching college football, reading, or working in his yard. He enjoys each of those activities, even more, when they are done alongside his family.

Katherine who has the title Client Services & Insurance Support, began working in the financial planning sector 20 years ago, working directly with HR directors and owners of small businesses in educating and setting up employee benefits. After taking time off to focus on being a full-time mom to her four children, she has returned to the industry in the role of administration, focusing specifically on the needs of the insurance clients at Encompass Financial Planning. Katherine brings her educational background, ability to communicate effectively, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to the clients she serves.

Katherine graduated with a B.S.N. from Weber State University.

She is a transplant to the beautiful Pacific Northwest due to marrying a Portland native. After residing in Oregon for a couple of years, she and her husband took a nine-year break from the rain and enjoyed the sunshine and warmth of Las Vegas. Their family returned to Portland in 2010 and Katherine has fallen in love all over again with the lush green landscapes, the unique Portland culture and the wonderful people. Katherine is a mother to four and step-mom to two, which translates to a busy, sometimes loud, but always fun household. She enjoys reading, running, cooking and any travel she can get, but her favorite place to be is always home with family.
